Father's Day 1.0

Today I got to enjoy my first Father's Day, and I had an excellent chance to just enjoy my family. We joined Brittany's parents and sister for brunch, which was yummy, and then lounged by the pool and enjoyed Avery's giggles. Yep, that's right, she's officially a giggler. We tried extremely hard to get it on video to show you all, but unfortunately, she's a little camera shy. But fear not, we'll get it soon.

Fun and sun today
Avery's laugh warms my heart
Great being a dad

Here's some pictures of our day...enjoy!

Weekend in Palm Desert

We just got back in town from a weekend in Palm Desert with the entire Rulis clan. We were all there to celebrate Jeff and Lisa's wedding, a union 12 years in the making. It was awesome to see all of the aunts, uncles and cousins, but especially great to be able to spend some time with Nate's Grandma. It was the first time for Nate's family to meet Avery, and of course they all fell in love at first sight.

Now that we're back at home, our days will be filled with Bar Review class, tutoring, and laying by the pool. Summer is by far my favorite time of year, and the culmination is Nate's birthday party on the 4th of July. If you're around, we'd love for you to come by!

I've posted a bunch of pictures below from this weekend. Hope you enjoy them!

Love,

At Least We Have Alternatives ...

Tomorrow is Brittany's last day as a teacher (and yes we will be throwing her a retirement party to celebrate) after which she gets to spend each and every day with our little bundle of joy. Thankfully, since Brittany will be taking care of Avery we do not have to worry about putting her in daycare, but I found this picture on another blog and now we know that if Brittany does go back to work in the future at least we know how to take care of Avery while we are at work ...

HAHAHA! Just Kidding!!! But does anyone else wonder what sort of crazy child-rearing the Myers' are up to in Seattle?

(** Legal Disclaimer - baby featured in the photo is NOT Evey Myers. Any resemblance to Evey Myers is entirely unintentional and merely by happenstance. The Rulis family is not suggesting in any way that the Myers family would ever duct-tape their child to the wall; no matter how sweet it might be.**)
